FINISHED !!!!! Daenerys Targaryen from HBO's Game of Thrones played by Emilia Clarke. This was drawn from a reference photo and embellished a bit! I don't like to stick too close to the reference pic because my goal IS NOT to reproduce a photo but rather create what is CLEARLY an illustration. If I wanted to reproduce a photo, it's a lot easier to stick it in a copier and hit "print". My goal is also "NOT" photo realism...If this looks like a photo to you, then I have failed my goal. I wanted this to instantly be recognized as a pencil drawing.

I love the "ribbony" effect you utilized in this drawing, as well as your one of Stevie Nicks. Photo realism, I think, is a valid approach, but I totally appreciate your goal with this piece and you certainly reached it. I can tell it is a drawing, but I can also tell precisely who the subject is. There is no room for confusion there. <3
