I suppose many of you have guessed that this will be Princess Zelda! Now you can look straight into the eyes of a legend with this full frontal portrait.
I had this idea when I saw a photo of the very beautiful Australian Super model Gemma Ward [link] which I used as a reference. I chose her for her ODD, yet unique features and because she looks less human and more fantasy (if that makes sense). Much of this drawing was adlib with NO references at all. This drawing was actually a pleasure to do, I hope you like it also. Here [link] is a large close-up view of her face. 11" x 14" Strathmore 300 series smooth bristol 2B and H pencils approx. 12 hours to complete You can see a few "work-in-progress" shots in my scrapbook [link] UPDATE: There was something bothering me about this all weekend. I made some changes this morning, I wonder if any of you can notice? Daily DeviationGiven 2009-06-13Princess Zelda 2009 by ~pat-mcmichael. From the suggester: "I cannot believe that this is a fanart piece. The amount of detail and use of tones in the shading is remarkable! From her freckles to her veined ears, this is simply spectacular. Also make note of how the individual hair strands even cast shadows on her face, and there's even a Link reflecting in her headdress... unbelievable!"
